Holiday Cards , December 2007
I don't do it every year, but I still enjoy making my own holiday cards when I can. Some years I do "holiday" literally and then sometimes not as much. Like this year. I don't think many would consider a woman drinking coffee and playing lotto at McDonalds "festive," per se, but there was a red pointsetta behind her and I am sure I heard Christmas music overhead.

WTC Site East Bathtub, November 2007
More than once this fall, more than once I've come back to the construction projects of Lower Manhattan. I can't help it, I have always had trouble seperating work from other things.

Landscape Day Trip, September 2007
New York is a concrete jungle, and there aren't too many views without something man-made. However there are enough trees (Central Park above) and park space to
mix a palette of greens.
The goal wasn't to try and paint as many painting as I could, but to spend the day painting as much as possible. I began the morning in the East Village, moved onto Central Park, and as the day light faded finished the day at Grand Central Station.

Going home is always such a nice contrast to New York.
I prefer to work from life, but that's not always possible (particularly from the moving car).

South Carolina Backroads, July 2007
Its always nice to head home to South Carolina. The landscape and pace of life are always a welcomed change of environment. It's next exactly a science, but I enjoy the random--point-and-shoot-out-the-car-window pictures.

A typical Lower Manhattan street. |

This is Lower Manhattan (Under Construction), June 2007
I have spent a lot of time in Lower Manhattan the last few years and have enjoyed most of it. While the construction can be a nuisance, I've tried to make the most of it. If you close your eyes you can almost image what its going to look like in a few years.
